What can I say... I love the arts. First...I am a serious musician and I help lead the fusion Jazz quartet Velocity all over the PNW. I got into photography about 6 years ago when my dad bought a Nikon DSLR. I was visiting my parents up in Alaska for the holidays and he lent me his camera to play with for the trip. I was hooked! Something about the landscape and creating artistry through the lens got me. I saw the world around me differently. I wanted to be a landscape photographer before I even knew what that was. Just like music I devoted all of my resources into learning the art and mastering the craft of photography... if such a thing could ever be mastered. Photography happened very organically for me. I couldn't get enough and soon other photographers that I admired showed me what was possible with a camera, a big imagination, and a desire to explore.
Lucky for me I live in one of the most beautiful states in the U.S. Washington State is home to some of the most amazing landscape photography around. From lush waterfalls, to crazy jagged peaks the potential for creative photography is endless here.
In the end I shoot these photos for me as a reminder of all the incredible places that surround us, and that I was lucky enough to pick up my father's camera several years ago and awaken a side of me I never knew existed. Hopefully you will enjoy these photos as well and maybe even get out and visit some of these amazing places.
